Last weekend I got to do a newborn shoot for Lily. I had props, I had cameras and I had bean bags all stuffed into the car (this took about 20 minutes to do). I was ready for a nice road trip down the coast, and then a fun photo shoot involving a beautiful newborn and a sleepy owl hat.
I prefer to do newborn shoots at the family's home, hence the road trip. You can't expect mum and bub to travel when the baby is only between five and ten days old. Being at home also means that the baby can be fed should they become hungry and put to bed if they become tired. It sets the mood for a long, relaxed shoot where everyone is happy and can have a cup of tea.
At this particular house the light was amazing and there was a turquoise wall for the family to pose infront of. The star of the show, Lily, was the perfect model. She didn't cry and she found it very interesting that mummy wanted her to wear an owl on her head.
